Career Opportunity

Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Our client, one of the most reputed oil & gas mid-stream corporations, listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, and operating a well-established refinery, is seeking a highly professional, dynamic, and visionary individual to join as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The CFO will be responsible for leading the organization’s financial strategy, planning, reporting, accounting, treasury, and taxation functions while ensuring robust internal controls and financial process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Contribute to corporate strategy by developing long-term financial plans, forecasts, and management strategies for Board approval

  • Ensure adequate liquidity and optimized cash flow management to meet short- and long-term funding requirements

  • Secure funding through an optimized mix of banks, capital markets, and other financing sources

  • Ensure compliance with International Accounting / Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements

  • Present and articulate the company’s financial strategy to analysts, credit agencies, investors, and customers

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, analyze risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions

  • Advise senior management on investments, expenditure decisions, and commercial strategies

  • Develop and mentor finance teams while fostering a performance-driven culture

  • Optimize capital structure to reduce capital costs and improve treasury efficiency

  • Lead financial close activities for ongoing projects by engaging local and foreign debt/equity investors

  • Establish KPI-based financial performance monitoring systems with regular reporting

  • Conduct due diligence on investment proposals to support strategic decision-making

  • Oversee mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities

Key Requirements

  • MBA or Chartered Accountant (CA) from a recognized professional body

  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in public listed or multinational companies

  • At least 5 years in senior finance leadership roles

  • Strong command of accounting standards, reporting frameworks, statutory regulations, and financial best practices

  • Proven experience in evaluating large-scale projects and securing local & international financing

  • Experience in mergers & acquisitions

  • Strong governance, risk management, strategic financial management, and IT expertise

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and change management skills

  • Maximum age limit: 55 years
