Our client, a Karachi-based organization, is seeking to appoint experienced and accomplished legal professionals for its Legal Department. The selected individuals will be responsible for delivering proactive, high-quality legal advisory services, managing legal risks, and ensuring full compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
The senior position will report directly to the Head of Legal and will work closely with internal stakeholders across all business functions.
The Deputy General Manager Legal will play a key leadership role in managing corporate and regulatory legal matters of the Company. The role involves providing strategic legal guidance, overseeing compliance initiatives, supervising legal staff, and representing the Company before regulatory and quasi-judicial forums.
Proactively identify legal risks associated with the Company’s operations and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
Provide legal support for oil and gas infrastructure projects, including licensing and franchising arrangements.
Advise on real estate transactions, shipping matters, and international trade issues.
Provide legal input on new business initiatives, including structuring joint ventures and partnerships.
Render legal opinions on procurement matters, banking, and financing arrangements.
Oversee all employment and labor law matters, including drafting, reviewing, and vetting agreements, deeds, and other legal instruments.
Support the implementation of legal and regulatory compliance programs and supervise a team of legal professionals.
Provide legal support and advisory services to senior management and the Board of Directors.
Represent the Company before quasi-judicial and regulatory forums, submit representations, and safeguard the Company’s interests.
Law Degree from an HEC-recognized Law School/University.
Additional qualifications such as Solicitor, Bar-at-Law, LL.M., or equivalent will be considered an advantage.
Preferably 8–10 years of overall professional experience in a large national or multinational organization.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant functional experience in a similar role, either at an equivalent level or in a middle management position.
Prior experience of working with a regulatory organization will be an added advantage.
Strong drafting and legal interpretation skills are essential.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Preferably not more than 45 years of age as of the application closing date.
The Junior Management Legal role involves supporting the Legal Department in litigation management, legal documentation, advisory services, and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong analytical and drafting skills with the ability to work independently.
Manage and monitor litigation cases before courts and legal forums through external counsels, including review of pleadings prior to filing.
Maintain up-to-date records of court cases and ensure effective coordination with external lawyers.
Vet agreements, MOUs, addendums, and other legal documents, and provide legal opinions where required.
Provide legal advisory support to departments after reviewing inquiry reports, charge sheets, show cause notices, court orders, and other relevant documents.
Review contracts, agreements, letters, and proposals to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and flag any potential legal or statutory risks.
Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Company’s business and advise the supervisor accordingly.
Law Degree from an HEC-recognized Law School/University.

Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national or multinational organization.
At least 1–2 years of relevant functional experience in a similar role or one position below at a senior level.

Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferably not more than 33 years of age as of the application closing date.
