The Punjab School Education Department has given the approval of conducting summer camps in all the public and private schools of the province, which will be conducted between June 16 and July 15, 2025.
As per the official communication, the camps would be meant to conduct curricular activities, and would be open to students of all classes. But this will not be compulsory and schools will have to get a written permission of the parents before the students can take part.
The summer camps will run only in the morning hours of the day, between 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, morning, evening and afternoon schools. Private institutions will not charge any extra or additional fee on these camps.
On the same note, government schools and teachers are not supposed to charge any tuition fee from the participating students. The location of all activities will be inside classrooms.
Schools have been instructed to provide the basic amenities, such as clean and cold drinking water, clean environment, good sitting arrangement, fans and power backup (in the event of load shedding). It is also obligatory to have a properly equipped first aid box.
Students coming to such camps will not have to wear uniforms. Nonetheless, the schools should make sure that the students are dressed in light-colored and loose clothes and that they have hats or caps to avoid the heat.
