Career Opportunities – Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa invites applications from qualified and eligible candidates (both male and female) for various positions in Primary and Secondary Healthcare Facilities across the province. These appointments are offered on a fixed pay basis for a period of one (01) year, extendable based on satisfactory performance and departmental requirements.

Available Positions

1. Medical Officer

  • Qualification: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Additional Requirement: Completion of House Job Training
  • Registration: Valid PMDC registration required
  • Age Limit: No age restriction
  • Total Posts: 1,425

2. Dental Surgeon

  • Qualification: BDS or equivalent from a recognized university
  • Additional Requirement: Completion of House Job Training
  • Registration: Valid PMDC registration required
  • Age Limit: No age restriction
  • Total Posts: 250

3. Nurses

  • Qualification: BS Nursing (4-year degree)
  • Registration: Must be registered with PNC
  • Age Limit: No age restriction
  • Total Posts: 764

Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must meet all required qualifications and conditions before the application deadline.
  • Foreign-qualified candidates must have valid registration with PMDC/PNC.

2. Nature of Appointment

  • Appointments will be made under KP Health Department Contract Appointment Rules, 2022 (as amended).
  • Positions are:
    • Non-transferable
    • Non-pensionable
    • Non-permanent
  • Initial contract duration: 1 year
  • Extension depends on performance and departmental needs.
  • These appointments do not guarantee regularization.

3. Application Procedure

  • Applications must be submitted in hard copy to the concerned Divisional Commissioners.
  • Required documents must be attached.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
  • Separate applications are required for each post (if applying for multiple positions).
  • Candidates must specify facility-wise preferences as listed on the official website:
    www.healthkp.gov.pk
  • Merit lists will be prepared on a facility basis.

4. Interview Process

  • Interviews will be conducted by the Departmental Selection Committee.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited.
  • Interview schedules will be announced by the relevant Commissioner’s Office.

5. Scrutiny Process

  • A Scrutiny Committee will verify applications and documents.
  • Only eligible candidates will proceed further in the recruitment process.

6. Government Employees

  • Candidates already employed in the public sector may apply.
  • However, they must resign from their current position before joining.
  • This ensures no internal transfer of doctors within the system.

7. Grievance Redressal

  • A Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) will address complaints.
  • Complaints must be submitted in writing within the given timeframe.
  • Decisions of the GRC will be final.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for interviews.
  • The department reserves the right to correct errors or omissions in the advertisement.

8. Selection Criteria

  • Selection will be conducted as per Rule 14 of the Initial Recruitment Rules, 2026.

9. Application Deadline

  • Last Date: 08 April 2026

10. Validity of Merit List

  • The merit list will remain valid for one (01) year from the date of interview.
