MULTAN ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY LIMITED (MEPCO)
Filling of vacant positions under Market Implementation and Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD)

MEPCO is one of the biggest Distribution Companies of Electricity in the Public Sector serving more than 8.1 million consumers having 15000+ employees with annual revenue of more than Rs.300 Billion and consisting of operational area covering 15 districts of Punjab. The Charter of MEPCO is to provide reliable and safe electric power supply to its consumers in its jurisdiction.

1. Applications are invited from dynamic and high-calibre professional candidates (male/female) from all over Pakistan for the following positions. The appointments shall be made strictly on a contractual basis, renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance evaluation, and shall not confer any right to permanent employment or entitlement to Post-Retirement Benefits. The engagement shall be governed by the following terms and conditions:

Manager (Legal / Contracts) 19 1 Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Diploma in Contract laws and relevant higher qualification will be given preference. Minimum 12 years’ experience with 05 years as High Court practitioner. The candidate having understanding of legal and regulatory affairs associated with the power sector including contract drafting / review / management laws, rules, regulations etc., and the contractual framework for power/energy sales and purchases will be given preference. Knowledge of competitive electricity markets will be given competitive advantage. Up to 50 Years as on closing date
Manager (Planning & Forecasting) 19 1 Master / BE / BS Electrical / Electronic Engineering (16 years education Degree) in 1st Division with at least 60% marks from any reputable and HEC recognized University with Registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Higher qualification will be given preference. Note:- Computer literacy is mandatory. Minimum 12 years’ experience including 05 years in distribution and planning. The candidate should possess comprehensive understanding of transmission and demand forecasting functions. Knowledge of competitive electricity market will be an added advantage. Up to 50 Years as on closing date
Manager (Legal / Regulatory Affairs) 19 1 Master/Bachelors equivalent to 16 years’ degree in Engineering/ Finance/Accounting /Law/ Management Sciences from reputable HEC recognized universities. Note:- i. Computer literacy is mandatory. ii. In case of Engineering Degree, PEC Registration is mandatory. 12 years’ experience including 05 years in Contract Management & Regulatory Affairs. Up to 50 Years as on closing date
Deputy Manager (Contracts) 18 1 Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Diploma in Contract laws and relevant higher qualification will be given preference. Minimum 05 years’ experience with 02 years as High Court practitioner. The candidate having understanding of legal and regulatory affairs associated with the power sector including contract drafting / review / management laws, rules, regulations etc., and the contractual framework for power/energy sales and purchases will be given preference. Deputy Manager (Finance) 18 1 i) Chartered Accountant (ICMA (Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants / Institute of Cost and Management Accountants) ii) MBA or equivalent (16 years education) (Major in Finance) Note:- Computer literacy is mandatory. For Sr.No. (i) 05 years experience is required. For Sr.No. (ii) 05 years post qualification experience in Audit and Accounts of Government Departments / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies or Large Public Limited Companies of well repute is required. The experience in cost accounting and relevant field will be given preference. The candidate having understanding of bilateral contract and bidding process and knowledge of competitive electricity market will be an added advantage. Up to 45 Years as on closing date
Deputy Manager (Demand Forecasting) 18 1 Master / BE / BS Electrical / Electronic Engineering (16 years education Degree) in 1st Division with at least 60% marks from any reputable and HEC recognized University with Registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Higher qualification will be given preference. Note:- Computer literacy is mandatory. Minimum 05 years’ experience including 03 years in power forecasting and transmission planning. The candidate should possess comprehensive understanding of transmission and demand forecasting functions. Knowledge of competitive electricity market will be an added advantage. Deputy Manager (Regulatory Affairs) 18 1 Master/Bachelors equivalent to 16 years’ degree in Engineering/ Finance/Accounting /Law/ Management Sciences from reputable HEC recognized universities. Note:- i. Computer literacy is mandatory. ii. In case of Engineering Degree, PEC Registration is mandatory. Minimum 05 years’ experience including 03 years in regulatory affairs. The candidate should possess comprehensive understanding of regulatory affairs. Knowledge of competitive electricity market will be an added advantage. Up to 45 Years as on closing date
Assistant Manager (Demand Forecasting) 17 1 BE / B.Sc. / BS Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree (16-years education) in 1st Division with at least 60% marks from any reputable and HEC recognized University with Registration of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Master’s degree in relevant discipline will be given preference. Note:- Computer literacy is mandatory. Minimum 03 years’ experience including 01 year in transmission planning. The candidate should possess comprehensive understanding of planning and demand forecasting functions. Knowledge of competitive electricity market will be an added advantage. Up to 35 Years as on closing date
Assistant Manager (Transmission Planning) 17 1 BE / B.Sc. / BS Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree (16-years education) in 1st Division with at least 60% marks from any reputable and HEC recognized University with Registration of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Master’s degree in relevant discipline will be given preference. Note:- Computer literacy is mandatory. Minimum 03 years’ experience including 01 year in transmission planning. The candidate should possess comprehensive understanding of 132 KV level, capital budgeting including preparation of project documents related to transmission planning etc. Up to 35 Years as on closing date

2. SALARY: Lump sum market based Pay Packages.

INSTRUCTIONS / TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The prospective candidate must be a Pakistani Citizen.
  2. The Candidate must apply online directly on the IUB portal i.e. http://jobs.iub.edu.pk. within 15 days after publication of this advertisement and upload the attested copies of academic certificates / degrees, CNIC, Domicile, PEC Registration Certificate and paid Challan Fee etc. on the portal before closing date of application. In case of non-uploading on the IUB portal, application will not be entertained in any case.
  3. Incomplete Applications in any respect or received after due date will be entertained and no claim whatsoever thereof will be acceptable.
  4. HEC equivalence is mandatory for foreign degrees.
  5. Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous body employees must apply through proper channel with NOC of the respective department issued on or before last date, which will also be produced on day of interview.
  6. The candidate must not have been dismissed, removed, or compulsorily retired from service.
  7. Candidates having criminal record, involved in financial fraud, misconduct, or declared willful defaulters by any financial institution shall be disqualified.
  8. Candidates Dismissed / Terminated from any organization or having criminal record shall not be eligible. A declaration on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100/- to above effect should be provided at the time of interview.
  9. Only candidates fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria, including qualification, experience, age, and other conditions specified in the advertisement, shall be shortlisted.
  10. Merely applying for this written test shall not confer any right to shortlisting, selection or appointment unless the candidate fulfils the prescribed eligibility criteria, including educational qualification, experience, age, etc., at the time of interview.
  11. Candidates shall produce all original documents at the time of interview for verification.
  12. No TA / DA for this recruitment will be admissible.
  13. Age relaxation as per policy in vogue in MEPCO has already been included in above mentioned age limit and no further age relaxation will be granted in any case.
  14. The above mentioned positions are purely contractual in nature, non-pensionable, no long-term benefit and shall not be converted into permanent position at any stage.
  15. MEPCO also reserves the right to withhold the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason.
