Power Planning and Monitoring Company Career Opportunities

Organization Overview:
PPMC is mandated to provide policy and technical support to the Ministry of Energy (Power Division). It manages integrated planning of Pakistan’s power sector, develops and implements strategic plans, and monitors the performance of Power Sector Entities under approved policies.

Positions Available:
Management Trainee Officers (MTOs) in the following disciplines:

  1. Data Science

  2. Economics

  3. Human Resource (HR)


1. Management Trainee Officer (MTO) – Data Science

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in deploying machine learning models and AI solutions for predictive analytics and process automation.

  • Support data engineering pipelines, including cleaning, preprocessing, and validating large datasets.

  • Help fine-tune Large Language Models (LLMs) and implement Generative AI workflows for internal knowledge management.

  • Draft technical documentation and model performance reports under guidance.

  • Prepare data visualizations and project briefs for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies.

  • Coordinate with IT and functional departments for seamless AI integration.

  • Monitor model performance in production and recommend retraining when needed.

  • Participate in workshops and research sessions on emerging AI technologies.

  • Stay updated on AI trends and analytics.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.

  • Strong analytical skills with a collaborative mindset.

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern AI/ML frameworks.


2. Management Trainee Officer (MTO) – Economics

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in economic and policy analysis for the power and energy sector.

  • Support preparation of analytical notes, policy briefs, and research papers on electricity markets, tariffs, and sector performance.

  • Assist in data collection, cleaning, and analysis of power sector indicators.

  • Contribute to cost-benefit analysis and feasibility assessments of energy projects.

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of power sector entities against approved plans.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and dashboards for senior management.

  • Coordinate with internal departments for economic and financial inputs.

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings on power sector policy and planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Energy Economics from an HEC-recognized institution.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with statistical software (R, S) is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


3. Management Trainee Officer (MTO) – Human Resource (HR)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing HRIS modules, payrolls, and leave management.

  • Support performance appraisals and performance management cycles.

  • Review and update job descriptions and company policies.

  • Provide support in recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews.

  • Coordinate training sessions and employee development programs.

  • Contribute to initiatives boosting employee morale and team-building activities.

  • Conduct research on industry best practices and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain employee records and HR databases, promoting digitalization.

  • Develop HR-related presentations, reports, and orientations.

  • Coordinate HR matters with different departments.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s (4-year) or Master’s in Human Resource Management or related fields from HEC-recognized institutions.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


General Conditions for All MTO Positions

  • Minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 80% marks (local) and 65% marks (foreign graduates).

  • Degree must not be older than 3 years from the advertisement date.

  • Fresh graduates from reputable universities encouraged.

  • Foreign degrees require HEC equivalency.

  • Maximum age: 30 years (no relaxation).

  • Remuneration: PKR 100,000/month (lump sum).

  • Initial engagement: 1 year, with potential selection as Assistant Specialist/Assistant Manager based on evaluation and post availability.
