Vacancy Announcement

Position: Joint Registrar

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is an autonomous statutory body responsible for promoting free competition in all sectors of commercial and economic activity. Its mandate includes enhancing economic efficiency and protecting consumers from anti-competitive practices.

CCP invites applications from qualified and experienced legal professionals for the position of Joint Registrar, on a two-year contract basis (extendable based on performance). This position requires a dynamic and committed individual capable of managing quasi-judicial proceedings with integrity and precision.


Key Responsibilities

The Joint Registrar will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting and managing quasi-judicial proceedings of the Commission, ensuring timely scheduling, proper documentation, and adherence to procedural rules.

  2. Handling and administering case files from initiation to final resolution in accordance with statutory timelines and regulations.

  3. Drafting showcause notices, hearing notices, and other legal documents as required by the Commission.

  4. Representing the Commission before judicial and quasi-judicial forums and signing legal pleadings on its behalf.

  5. Maintaining and updating official records of proceedings within the Commission and related courts.

  6. Advising the Commission on administrative, procedural, and regulatory matters.

  7. Liaising with legal departments, benches, and external stakeholders for effective coordination and case management.

  8. Ensuring compliance with the Competition Act, 2010, and procedural regulations.

  9. Performing any other legal or administrative duties assigned by senior management to uphold transparency, efficiency, and judicial decorum.


Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: LLB from an HEC-recognized university or a reputable foreign institution.

  • Preferred Qualification: LLM in Law and/or Barrister-at-Law.

  • Experience Requirement:

    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience for LLB holders, or

    • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders.

  • Proven expertise in legal drafting, adjudication, and procedural law.

  • Experience as a Civil Judge or in a senior judicial/quasi-judicial position will be highly preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Competition Law, including the Competition Act, 2010, and related jurisprudence.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory bodiescourt/tribunal procedures, and administrative law.

  • Excellent analytical, research, and legal drafting skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and perform both independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is mandatory.


Age Limit

  • Maximum age limit: 35 years

  • General age relaxation of 5 years may be granted as per government rules.


Compensation Package

competitive, market-based salary package will be offered, commensurate with the candidate’s education, qualifications, and experience.
