Pakistan Railways – Job Opportunities (Contract Basis)

Pakistan Railways invites applications from male citizens of Pakistan for the following position on a purely contract basis:

Age Limit

  1. General: 18–25 years with 5 years general age relaxation.

  2. Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Buddhist Community, Sindh Rural & Balochistan, recognized tribes of Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir & Northern Areas: Additional 3 years relaxation.

  3. Ex-Servicemen: Up to 15 years or actual service period, whichever is less.

  4. Government servants / contract employees with 2 years continuous service: Additional 10 years (up to 55 years).

  5. Child of deceased civil servant: Additional 5 years.

  6. If a candidate qualifies for multiple relaxations, only one category will apply.

Instructions for Candidates

  1. Departmental candidates must apply through proper channel (NOC).

  2. Applications with incorrect information will be rejected.

  3. Candidates must belong to the jurisdiction of respective divisions.

  4. Candidates without final transcripts are not eligible.

  5. No TA/DA will be provided for tests or interviews.

  6. Selected candidates must:

    • Pass the prescribed medical examination and clearance from security agencies.

    • Undergo specified training.

  7. Forgery or bogus documents at any stage will result in cancellation of appointment.

Selection Criteria

  • 70% – Written Test

  • 30% – Interview

Important Notes

  1. Competent Authority reserves the right to reject any application without assigning reason and alter the number or distribution of vacancies.

  2. Applications must be submitted via National Job Portal: www.njp.gov.pk

  3. Deadline: 20 days from the date of advertisement publication in newspapers.

  4. Processing Fee: Rs. 1000/- per application, deposited at C.C.T Cash Office, Lahore or Station Masters / Booking Offices. The Miscellaneous Receipt (M.R.) must be uploaded with the application.
