Organization & Role Overview

  • Organization: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)

  • Role Title: General Manager Finance

  • Number of Positions: 2

  • Location: HR Department, Pakistan Cricket Board, Gaddafi Stadium, Ferozepur Road, Lahore, Pakistan.

  • Core Purpose: To manage core financial operations—including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow, taxation, and regulatory compliance—while directly supporting the CFO in strategic financial planning, risk management, and audits.

Eligibility & Requirements

1. Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified accountant holding a professional designation such as:

    • ICAP (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan)

    • ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales)

    • ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

    • Or an equivalent recognized professional accounting degree.

2. Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

3. Key Competencies

  • Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, taxation, PPRA rules, and financial regulations.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.

  • Advanced analytical and strategic decision-making skills.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Assist the CFO in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the PCB Finance department.

  • Prepare periodic financial statements and reports for management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.

  • Evaluate and improve financial management software, systems, and analysis tools.

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

  • Develop, manage, and forecast the PCB's annual budget.

  • Monitor performance against targets using variance analysis.

  • Develop financial plans and feasibility studies to back the board’s strategic objectives.

  • Provide data-driven financial insights to support corporate decision-making.

Treasury, Tax & Compliance

  • Supervise corporate and individual tax matters, ensuring timely filing of tax returns.

  • Ensure strict compliance with relevant laws, including IFRS, tax laws, and PPRA rules.

  • Oversee cash flow, liquidity, bank relationships, and negotiate banking arrangements.

  • Manage investment strategies in accordance with approved board policies.

Risk, Audit & Leadership

  • Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate with internal, external, and federal auditors to execute yearly audits.

  • Collaborate with other departments to address their specific financial requirements.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the team of finance professionals.

  • Execute any additional tasks assigned by the CFO.
