Description:

As part of its strategic transformation into a future-ready, agile, and sustainable institution, NBP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join its Compliance division in Karachi.


Position Details:

Job Title: Divisional Head - International Compliance (EVP)
Reporting To: Group Head - Compliance
Employment Type: Contractual, initially for three years with possible renewal at management’s discretion.


Educational & Professional Qualifications:

Minimum graduation or equivalent from a recognized local or international university/institute accredited by HEC.

Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications.


Experience Requirements:

At least 15 years of banking experience.

Minimum 3 years as Head and/or 5 years at one level below Head in Regulatory Compliance and/or International Compliance within a banking environment.


Required Skills & Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of financial crime and compliance risk assessments (RCSA).

Experience in establishing, implementing, and managing automated transaction monitoring and screening systems.

Superior analytical abilities.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide guidance to direct reports and assist senior management on regulatory and financial crime compliance matters related to the bank’s overseas branches.

Support the Head Office’s strategic plans for overseas branch execution and implementation.

Maintain and promote a robust compliance culture within overseas branches.

Lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of compliance professionals, including country-level Compliance Officers.

Oversee the activities of overseas compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.

Monitor and supervise the implementation of compliance programs, policies, and procedures at overseas locations.

Ensure timely review and update of RCSA and risk assessments by overseas branches.

Lead internal investigations into compliance breaches and regulatory matters, coordinating with internal departments as needed.

Report compliance risks to management, board committees, and relevant groups, ensuring corrective actions are promptly taken.

Review and update compliance-related policies, procedures, and manuals for overseas branches.

Coordinate with head office and branch teams to prevent overdue control documents.

Monitor international regulatory developments and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

Review resolution of key compliance issues highlighted by regulators.

Immediately inform head office groups and committees about enforcement actions and penalties imposed on overseas branches.

Conduct offsite reviews of overseas branches covering regulatory and AML-CFT risks, reporting findings to senior management and board.

Arrange annual compliance training for overseas branches and relevant head office teams.

Liaise with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on matters relating to overseas branches.

Undertake any additional assignments as delegated by supervisors.


Selection Process:
