3-Day Director’s Training Program
For State Owned Enterprises (SOEs)
“Empowering Directors, Enabling progress.”

19th-20th & 21st August, 2026

In accordance with the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023 — specifically Part 21, which requires that “each director of the SOE will have to satisfactorily complete a Director Training Program”. The National School of Public Policy (NSPP), through its Executive Development Institute (EDI), is pleased to offer a comprehensive three-day Directors’ Training Program (DTP) tailored to the leadership needs of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). This intensive program aligns with the certification standards set by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and aims to enhance capacity in governance, oversight, and compliance. Through focused modules and expert-led sessions, participants will explore best practices in board leadership, regulatory responsibilities, performance evaluation, financial management, and organizational transparency. This initiative helps SOEs improve governance frameworks and promote sustainable organizational growth.

Learning Outcomes:

  • It empowers directors and senior public sector leaders to confidently navigate the complex regulatory landscape, improve board performance, and ensure accountability in public sector enterprises.
  • Understand the scope and governance of the SOE Act, including the roles of CMU, the Ministry, and the Board.
  • Apply board leadership and composition standards aligned with SECP/IFC guidelines.
  • Strengthen oversight by effectively utilizing board committees (Nomination, Risk, HR).
  • Ensure compliance with financial planning, corporate objectives, and transparent reporting.
  • Manage conflicts, audits, compliance, and director accountability.
  • Incorporate SECP and international best practices for effective leadership in public enterprises.

Who Should Attend:

Board Members and Executive Directors of SOEs, Presidents & Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Senior Functional Managers, and Corporate Governance Executives. Serving Directors on SOE Boards (ex-officio, executive, and independent), Aspiring SOE Directors, Company Secretaries, and Professionals seeking certification.

NOTE: Seats are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a non-residential program.
