Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) is Pakistan's leading public sector utility, serving the people of the Karachi metropolitan area. It is responsible for ensuring clean, safe drinking water and sewerage services to the public.
Enacted under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) Act 2023, the utility envisions organizational reform activities to transform its culture towards full corporatization and a performance culture.
The Director – Enterprise GIS & Asset Management is responsible for leading the transformation of KW&SC's Enterprise GIS and Asset Management operations. The position requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise in the water sector to drive geospatial data development, asset management, and digital platform integration. The incumbent will be responsible for modernizing the corporation's GIS infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and coverage, and supporting the utility's digital transformation initiatives.
The incumbent is expected to demonstrate detailed technical knowledge of translating water sector geospatial data into actionable insights and will be responsible for the following:
Data Governance & Quality Assurance
Identify data gaps, inaccuracies, and coverage deficiencies and develop strategies to address them
Establish comprehensive GIS data governance and quality assurance arrangements, including data enrichment, validation, and verification
Asset Information Management
Manage as-built GIS data and prescribed asset information for newly constructed assets
Maintain and update asset information as part of KW&SC's routine business processes
GIS Procurement & Implementation
Lead the procurement, implementation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of GIS systems
Oversee the spatial integration of the proposed Enterprise Asset Management System and coordinate with relevant stakeholders
Spatial Data Management
Manage the spatial integration of District Metered Areas (DMAs), pressure and supply zones, sewerage catchments, and authorized consumption areas
Support supply optimization and network tracing/validation
Technical Leadership
Provide technical framing and edge guidance to progress initiatives
Ensure alignment of GIS and asset management strategies with organizational goals
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with Commercial, Projects, Asset Management, Data, and other departments
Develop policies, procedures, and standards for GIS and asset management
Digital Transformation
Support the integration of GIS with customer billing systems and other digital platforms
Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Competent Authority

The Director – Enterprise GIS & Asset Management shall report to the Competent Authority and coordinate with:
Commercial Department
Projects Department
Asset Management Department
Data Department
Other relevant departments and stakeholders
The appointment shall be on contract basis for a period of 3 years and extendable on satisfactory performance.
All appointments will be subject to fulfillment of codal formalities/verifications/administrative formalities.
