Brooke Pakistan

Brooke Hospital for Animals Pakistan is a non-profit public company limited by guarantee, established under Section 42 of the Companies Act. The organization operates in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to improve the welfare and lives of working equine animals such as horses, donkeys, and mules.

Brooke Pakistan invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following positions in Lahore.

1. Communication and Advocacy Officer

Location: Lahore
Contract Duration: Two-year contract (initially, extendable based on performance)

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mass Communication, Media Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related discipline.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in:

    • Communication and advocacy

    • Digital and social media management

    • Content development

    • Videography and photography

  • Experience in development communication.

  • Understanding of animal welfare, One Health approach, livelihoods, or social sector advocacy (desirable).

  • Ability to plan and implement communication, fundraising, and advocacy campaigns.

  • Experience in policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement events.

  • Skills in:

    • Media relations and public relations (PR)

    • Drafting press releases

    • Writing video scripts and editing briefs

    • Preparing meeting minutes

    • Writing position papers and narrative summaries

  • Previous experience in the non-profit development sector is required.

2. Advocacy & Programme Partnership Development Manager

Location: Lahore
Contract Duration: Contract offered initially (extendable based on performance)

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, Politics, or related disciplines.

Experience and Skills

The candidate should have:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in:

    • Advocacy and policy engagement

    • Programme partnerships and development

  • Strong experience working with national and international stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead advocacy initiatives on animal welfare and working equines.

  • Experience contributing to global initiatives such as Action for Animal Health.

  • Skills in:

    • Campaign coordination with national partners

    • Policy advocacy on priority issues (e.g., donkey skin trade and equine welfare)

    • Building strategic partnerships with government, NGOs, and academic institutions

  • Experience coordinating with Brooke UK on regional and global advocacy programs.

  • Knowledge of animal transport welfare in sectors such as brick kilns and coal mines.
