Our client, one of Pakistan’s largest publicly traded oil and gas producers and an equal opportunity employer, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The selected individual will lead all operated assets, field development, and production operations. This executive role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and optimized production strategies, managing risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the company's strategic transformation.
The COO will report directly to the Managing Director / CEO.
A 4-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Degree must be from a reputable local or foreign institution/university recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).
Minimum 25 years of experience in production, drilling operations, project execution, and portfolio/asset management.
At least 8 years of experience in a senior management role within an Exploration & Production (E&P) company.
Lead asset managers to ensure uninterrupted production and sales, achieving both financial and operational targets across all producing assets and mineral projects.
Provide strategic direction to petroleum engineering teams for:
Effective reservoir and well management
Field development planning
Adoption of advanced technologies
Oversee the drilling, completion, and testing of wells to evaluate hydrocarbon potential and optimize production performance.
Develop and implement strategies for the efficient development of oil and gas discoveries, while mitigating technical and commercial risks.
Guide the formulation of strategic goals, production strategies, and annual work programs to enhance:
Production output
Field infrastructure
Revitalization of aging fields
Protect the company’s interests in partner-operated assets by monitoring performance, budgets, and joint venture work plans.
Hold overall responsibility for timely and efficient project execution in line with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
Represent the company at industry, regulatory, and professional forums, ensuring leadership presence and alignment with best practices.
