PUNJAB COUNTER NARCOTICS FORCE (CNF)

Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from suitable and eligible candidates for appointment in the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) on a contract basis, initially for a period of three (03) years, extendable as per performance, on a lump-sum pay package, under the Government of Punjab’s Contract Appointment Policy.

Qualification & Experience

Candidates must possess an LLB degree or equivalent with minimum 2nd Division from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), along with one of the following:

• Five (05) years’ practice as an Advocate in the High Court, preferably with two (02) years’ experience of working with government agencies or law firms
  OR

• Three (03) years’ practice as an Advocate in the High Court in case of holding a postgraduate degree in Law, preferably with two (02) years’ experience of working with government agencies or law firms

Note: Practical experience must be acquired after obtaining the prescribed qualification.

Terms & Conditions

1. Recruitment shall be made under the Government of Punjab Contract Appointment Policy, 2004.

2. Written tests and interviews will be conducted in Lahore only.

3. Candidates shall undergo an MCQs-based written test of 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes, as per the following syllabus:

A. General Subjects (25%)

• General Knowledge

• Pakistan Studies

• Current Affairs

• Islamic Studies

• English

• Urdu

• Everyday Science

• Basic Mathematics

• Basic Computer Studies

B. Relevant Acts & Laws (75%)

1. Punjab Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 2025

2. Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997

3. Qanoon-e-Shahadat Ordinance, 1984

4. Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)

5. Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)

6. No further relaxation in age, education, or any other criteria shall be allowed.

7. Shortlisted candidates must submit an affidavit stating that they are not nominated, involved, or wanted in any criminal case/FIR. Submission of a false affidavit shall result in disqualification and legal action.

8. Candidates claiming equivalence of qualification must submit an equivalence certificate issued by HEC or the relevant authority.

9. No TA/DA shall be admissible at any stage of the recruitment process.

10. Original educational certificates and relevant documents must be produced at the time of interview.

11. If any document is found fake during verification, the recruitment shall be cancelled and legal action will be initiated.

12. Applicants must attach:

• Two recent passport-size photographs

• Attested copies of educational certificates

• CNIC

• Domicile

• Experience certificates

11. Government or semi-government employees must apply through proper channel along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

12. A postal order of Rs. 1,000/- (non-refundable) in favor of Deputy Director (Admin), Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, Lahore, must be attached with the application.

13. The department reserves the right to amend or cancel the recruitment process at any stage.

14. Test/interview schedules will be uploaded on the department’s website https://excise.punjab.gov.pk at least seven (07) days prior to the test date.
