Lahore: On Thursday, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) has been officially declared a drug-free campus by the Youth Councils for Anti-Narcotics (YOCFAN) and City District Government Lahore (CDGL).

After meeting the requirements set down by the related agencies and government departments, the varsity has become the first Pakistani university to receive the position of drug-free campus in South Asia.

Under the supervision of the project for Drug Demand Reduction sponsored by the State Department, USA and being implemented as part of the Colombo Plan that ambitions at planning prosperity together in Asian zone.

Punjab Higher Education Minister Raza Ali Gillani appreciated the management of UMT to cultivate a drug-free environment at the varsity.
