The coronavirus is spreading rapidly and taking the lives of many people. No effective treatment is available to halt the spread of the virus and precautionary measures are used to minimize its prevalence risk. The health sector is working to find a possible cure to save the people from this deadly disease. For this, the University of Health Sciences and Alkhidmat Health foundation has taken an initiative to work on the blood plasma therapy for the treatment of the coronavirus. Both institutes will launch the trial of the therapy and determine its effectiveness against the virus.
Agreement Between UHS And Alkhidmat Health Foundation
The University of Health Sciences and Alkhidmat Health Foundation agreed to use the blood plasma to treat the patients of coronavirus. The agreement is signed by the UHS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Javed Akram, and the Vice Chairman of Alkhidmat foundation, Hafeez- ur- Rehman.
Donors For Plasma Therapy
To successfully launch this project the Alkhidmat Health Foundation has offered its services to the University of Health Sciences. Alkhidmat Health Foundation will provide the donors to the University of Health Sciences. They will donate the plasma which will be used for the treatment of coronavirus. The blood plasma therapy is a process in which plasma of the recovered patients will be transfused to the infected one. In this way, the person might be able to develop immunity to fight against the disease. So by considering this aspect, the decision is taken to work on this therapy. It is predicted that blood plasma therapy might be proved effective to control the coronavirus.
