Dera Ismail Khan: The Agricultural University of Dera Ismail Khan has officially declared a public holiday on the occasion of 1st Muharram. The announcement was made following the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and in accordance with the directives issued by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As per the official notification, all academic and administrative operations at the university will remain completely suspended for the day. This holiday is proclaimed after the Islamic New Year that is considered to start the month of Muharram - the period of religious thought and meaning to a considerable number of people.
While teaching and office activities will be halted, the university has clarified that security personnel will continue to perform their duties as per their assigned schedules to ensure safety and order on campus during the holiday.
