School Education Department Issues New Directives For Private Schools Registration

The school education department has issued new directives for the registration of private schools. According to the SED, all the private schools have to register every year and the pre-existing registration will be valid for one year. Earlier the department had announced the extension of registration up to five years but now every year the registration must be renewed. For the registration, the online application form must be filled. It is pertinent to mention here that it is essential for the owners of the private schools to be registered on the online portal. 

Deadline For Registration

All the private school's private schools will be able to register till 31st march 2021 free of cost. After the deadline, the school owners have to pay the registration fees as mentioned by the school education department. The online data of schools will be available through online registration. This is the first time in history that private schools are being offered with the facility of online registration. 

Online Registration Portal 

The School Education Department previously had launched the Private Education Provider Registration and Information System platform to facilitate private schools. Through this portal, the school authorities can use the e-licensing facility without having any inconvenience. The owners of the private schools can take the benefit of this platform and register their schools through the district education authorities. As per the sources, the data of the registered private schools across Punjab had been uploaded. 

Reopening of Educational Institutes

Moreover, the private school association had also announced to reopen the educational institutes from11th January 2021 without waiting for the final decision from the government. The association had added that they will not agree with the government’s decision about the extension in the closure of the schools, colleges, and universities.
