Islamabad: The district Nazim Himayatullah Mayar distributed Rs 18 million among 245 brilliant students who secures top positions in matric and FA, FSc annual exams 2016.

While addressing the ceremony organized at Executive Services Club Mardan, Himayat Mayar promised to continue the working for the wellbeing of the people. “The state has a responsibility to provide education to all children,” Himayat said.

While addressing, he also said that it was for the first time in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to present awards to the aspirants of government schools.

He furthermore added that recognizing the achievements of brilliant students was a revolution in its own right. He said that the district government has allocated 20% budget for education in Annual Development Programme.

District Nazim said that the district government has allocated Rs 5 lac for the needy students of each union council and they will also give scholarships to the students of class 5th and class 8th.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Shiekh, Assistant Commissioner Khan Muhammad, Public Accounts Committee Chairman Amanat Shah Haqani, president of All Private School Management Association Naseer Afridi, heads of numerous educational institutions as well as the members of district council also attended the ceremony.
