Lahore: The vice chancellor of University of the Punjab, Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has instructed the relevant authorities to change the syllabus of every academic programme in all faculties of the university on advanced lines.

He gave these instructions while presideing over a meeting of Deans Committee on Tuesday. He asked all the deans to provide hard as well as soft copies of the curriculum of the academic programmes within one week and ordered the Director of Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Tahir Jamil to study the curriculum according to the requirements of modern age.
Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said that the management will strengthen Quality Enhancement Cell and ensure quality education to the aspirants.

In the meeting, Acting Treasurer Rao Muhammad Sharif briefed the meeting that in the follow up of Punjab University VC’s meeting along with CM of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the government had issued letters to the management of PU seeking PC1 for establishment of Medical College and hostels.
He further informed that the government had also written for provision of 10 buses, Rs 50 million for promotion of research and increasing PEEF scholarship quota and formalities were being fulfilled in this respect.

He moreover told that Punjab University had been freed from withholding tax and hence millions of rupees will be saved.
The deans congratulated the vice chancellor of PU on this accomplishment and admired him for working for the benefit of the university.
