Lahore:  University of the Punjab (PU) and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Ghanzhou, China, will work together on different research projects in the fields of engineering, environment and economics.

For this purpose, a 32-member PU delegation, lead by Director Punjab University Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization Prof Dr Tahir Jamil is visiting the Jiangsu University, China. The vice chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir did not go to China due to the present security situation at Punjab University.

A representative of varsity said that the PU delegation consisting of teachers and aspirants from Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, College of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Department of Economics, was chosen on merit.

Punjab University delegates called on the president of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and it was decided in the meeting to launch the teachers and students exchange programme among the two universities.

It was also discussed in the meeting to work mutually on different research projects in engineering, environment and economics and to share the knowledge as well as experience.

In a press statement, Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said the teamwork along with the international universities will improve ranking of PU and promote quality research in varsity.

The delegation left the country on March 23rd, 2017 and will return on March 29th, 2017.
