Four distinct notices were posted by the commissions on 23rd September 2025, the third revised merit list for Labour Inspector (BS-14) on a term of three years in the Directorate General of Labour Welfare (Labour and HR Department); the first revised merit list for the Assistant Director (M&E/P&D) (BS-17) on a three year contract with the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Rawalpindi; the first revised merit list of Structural Engineer (BS-18) The uploaded documents are recommended to ensure that the candidates check them and determine the precise roll numbers and category positions.

Importance of Merit List

Adjusted merit lists are likely to be based on administrative review, candidature withdrawal, clerical correction or even a tie-case and thus they may alter the person to whom document verification, medical examination or appointment is to be done. To most prospective applicants, a reformulated list transforms the waitlisting status into an acceptance offer, or the other way around. There have already been several updates of Labor Inspector vacancies in Punjab and with corrections being made in the board, the eventual selection is bound to be based on the correct marks, the corrections on the reserved categories and the eligibility checks.

Departmental Observations & Probable Action

Labour Inspector (BS-14): It is a high-volume recruitment that is undergoing its third revision; it started implementing it earlier in 2025. Shorlisted applicants are also advised to again download the merit PDF and instructions on counselling/document verification published with the list and failure to do so might still cause delays in formal appointment. The Punjab Subordinate Selection authorities have previously given the final selection lists and other counselling schedules that is why in this revision the same is being done.

Assistant Director (M&E/P&D), WASA Rawalpindi (BS-17): There are many extra eligibility requirements (professional experience, membership of applicable engineering councils, local domicile requirements). It is indicated in the first revised merit list that at least one change would be effected following the initial release; the affected candidates would need to watch out a separate WASA circular or PPSC upload regarding contract signing and joining formalities.

Structural Engineer (BS-18), Punjab Small Industries Corporation: The technical posts are those that come under the scrutiny regarding the degree of qualification and professional registration. The first revision is usually an indication of corrected marking or substitution of unacceptable names; shortlisted engineers are supposed to carry original degree certificates, PEC registration and experience letters to verify.

Hardware/ Network Technician (BS-14), Punjab Police, Regularization: The notice by the commission on regularization can regularize past contracts /adhoc jobs into regular jobs after meeting the required requirements. To know the effective date, implications and benefits of seniority, the candidates and serving staff are supposed to request the formal order at the police department or the PPSC site.

How Candidates Should Act Now

  • Get the official lists of merits in PDFs in the announced links of the commission and compare the roll numbers and category assignments against your list.
