NUMS Starts MBBS and BDS Admissions for Session 2022

The National University of Medical Sciences has started the MBBS and BDS admissions for session 2021-2022. To select the eligible candidates that can get admission in the NUMS-affiliated medical colleges the university conducts the NUMS entry test for the students. The candidates who intend to apply for the Army Medical College Rawalpindi have to follow the schedule provided by the university For NUMS MBBS/ NUMS BDS admission 2021-22. For the MBBS degree program, 40 seats are available on open merit for local students while 15 seats are reserved for foreign nationals, and for the BDS program, 6 seats are available for open merit and 8 for foreign nationals. 

Eligibility Criteria

Following is the eligibility criteria announced for NUMS BDS/ NUMS MBBS admission 2021-22.

• Pakistani citizens Including those of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan are eligible to take admission to Army Medical College Rawalpindi.
• The candidates must have at least 65% aggregate marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent degree program.
• It is mandatory for the candidates to pass PMC-MDCAT with a minimum of 65% marks or apply against open merit seats for admission to Army Medical College Rawalpindi
• The candidates must have appeared in NUMS Entry Test 2021 for applying against open merit seats to get admission to Army Medical College Rawalpindi.
• In case the student does not hold a Pakistani nationality or holds a dual nationality is overseas or a non-resident Pakistani citizen then he/she must have obtained their HSSC or equivalent 12th-grade qualification from outside Pakistan The admission of a foreign student will be against open merit seats.
• The candidates must have minimum of 65% aggregate marks in FSc (Pre-Medical)or equivalent degree program from a foreign School/College/university or its examining body in at least three subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics. Moreover, the candidates have to submit the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC in case of foreign qualification.
• The foreign qualified candidates must have passed the PMC MDCAT exam with a minimum of 65% marks 
• The applicant should have passed an English language proficiency test e.g. TOEFL or IELTS with at score of 500 or 5.5.

Merit Determination

The weightage formula for the MBBS and BDS admission is mentioned as follows. 

• F.Sc (Pre-Medical / HSSC/Equivalent: 25%
• NUMS Entry Test:25%
• PMC National MDCAT: 50%

Instructions For Candidates

• The candidates are required to submit the online application form through the web portal of NUMS.  
• The candidates have to apply for MBBS/BDS seat in Army Medical College, Rawalpindi.
• The candidates are required to register with CNIC/NICOP/Passport email address and set a password. After registration, the candidate applicant is required to complete the application form. The candidates have to upload the required documents before the submission of the application form. 
• According to the PMC Admission Regulations 2021-2022, the candidates have to apply separately for the medical and dental programs. 
• The candidates are directed to mention the accurate information while filling the application form as the incomplete application form will not be considered by the NUMS in any case.
• Application after the final submission cannot be changed by the applicant so check the application form before submission.
• The applications can be only submitted through the online web portal and hard copies are not acceptable. No application form will be accepted after the last date of submission.
