NUMS Announces Centralized MBBS and BDS Admission For Session 2022

The National University of Medical Sciences has announced the MBBS and BDS admission for private medical and dental colleges session 2021-2022. The schedule has been provided for the affiliated colleges of NUMS that include CMH Kharian Medical College, Foundation University Medical College, CMH Lahore Medical College and Institute of Dentistry Wah Medical College, Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences, HITEC Institute of Medical Sciences, CMH Multan Institute of Medical Sciences, Fazaia Ruth Pfau Medical College, CMH Institute of Medical Sciences, Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences, Bahria University Medical and Dental College, and Fazaia Medical College.

Eligibility Criteria

• According to the PMC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education Regulations 2021, for admission to the private college, no distinction will be made in the terms of the merit and criteria between Pakistani, overseas Pakistani, and foreign students. There is no special quota for foreign students in private medical and dental colleges. 
• The applicants must be citizens of AJK/Gilgit Baltistan to take admission in the NUMS-affiliated medical and dental colleges.
• The candidates should have a minimum of 65% aggregate marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent qualification.
• It is mandatory for the candidates to pass the national MDCAT with a minimum of 65% marks.
• The candidates must have appeared in the NUMS entry test for applying against open merit seats.
• The candidates should have obtained at least 65% marks in the FSc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent qualification.
• The policy for the calculation of merit for the admissions is in line with PMC where the marks obtained by the students in HSSC/FSc (Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics) will be used for the merit calculation. 

Merit Determination

The weightage formula for BDS and MBBS admission is mentioned below.

• F.Sc (Pre-Medical)/HSSC/Equivalent: 50% (Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics only)
• NUMS Entry Test: 25%
• PMC-MDCAT: 25%

Application Procedure

• The candidates have to do the online registration through the NUMS web portal.
• During the submission of the application form, the candidates have to mention their personal information, academic information, and other required details.
• The candidates are directed to carefully submit the form as after submission no changes can be made.
• Application once submitted cannot be changed so review the application form before submission.
• The incomplete application forms in any way will be rejected. No application form will be accepted after the due date of submission.
• The NUMS online admission portal has a list of all affiliated and attached medical/ dental colleges for selection of the admission.
• Applicants are notified to select the medical and dental colleges carefully, as per their choice. Applicants will be offered admission in MBBS and BDS in the respective medical/dental colleges on the basis of merit only.
• Admissions to the medical and dental programs will be conducted separately and the candidates are required to submit the separate admission form to apply for medical and dental programs. 
• After the completion of the admission process, the NUMS will generate the merit list for the selection of the candidates.
• The merit list will be issued by the respective medical and dental colleges.
• Candidates will be informed about the merit list through Email or SMS.
• In the case of a foreign qualification, the candidates have to submit the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC along with the admission form.
