The Higher Education Commission has announced Special Equivalence Examination for Law Graduate of Foreign Universities as per the orders of the Supreme Court. Each and every law graduate student must have to qualify the Special Equivalence test which is required under the Pakistan Bar Council Education rules before applying for Law Graduate Assessment Test. Law GAT test is compulsory for all those Law students who want to apply for the enrollment of Advocate in Bar Council.

Eligibility Criteria For Law Graduates

  1. All candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalence from a foreign institute or university recognized by HEC and PBC can apply for the Special Equivalence Examination
  2. All Law graduates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the law graduate assessment test.

Syllabus For Special Equivalence Examination

Candidates are informed that according to Higher4 Education Commission the Special Equivalence Examination will be based on five different subjects which are as follows.

  1. Constitution of Pakistan
  2. Civil Procedure Code
  3. Criminal Procedure Code
  4. Qanoon-e-Shahadat
  5. Specific Relief Act
 

 

Test Pattern For Exam

The Special Equivalence Examination will only consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and there will be no subjective type questions in the exam.

Applying Procedure

  1. Candidates can get online application forms from the HEC website for SEE Law in order to get registered.
  2. Applicants are informed to carefully submit their registration forms while choosing their examination center. Once the applicant selected any center he/she will not be given the chance to change it.
  3. All applicants must have to submit fee charges of PKR 5000 in Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited. Moreover, these fee charges are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  4. However, after online registration, the applicants must have to submit a fee deposit slip or bank slip before the last date of registration.
  5. Applicants are informed that they must have to mention their CNIC number on the backside of their deposit slip.

Special Equivalence Examination Details

  1. All applicants are informed that each candidate will be given a maximum of only three chances in order to pass the test.
  2. However, the Higher Education Commission conducts this test two times in a year the first time in June and the second time this test is conducted in December for all Law graduates.
  3. Roll number slips for the test can easily be downloaded from the HEC website.
  4. All applicants must know that the examination will be conducted in the Federal and Provincial capitals.
  5. In order to enter the examination center, the candidate must have his/her original CNIC and roll number slip.
