All Pakistani students who desire to study in the United States will be provided with better educational opportunities. On Sunday 1st December 2019 the minister counselor for public affairs at the U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Lisa K. Heller expressed her gratitude for the bilateral ties towards the Pakistani nation especially students by showing strength and determination.

Educational Opportunities in the US

For better educational opportunities and student exchange programs, the Trump administration will increase its support for Pakistani students who belong to different backgrounds. According to Heller, more than 7,900 Pakistani students are currently enrolled in different universities of the United States and the number of students is increasing with every passing year.

US Government Educational Support

For all Pakistani students who belong to different backgrounds the United States government is dedicated to supporting educational opportunities and academic exchanges. Moreover the US embassy, in collaboration with Education USA, organized International Education Week (IEW) from November 18th to 22nd. The purpose of the event was to encourage Pakistani youngsters to study in the US. Education USA also provides free assistance and guidance to students applying to US universities.

IEW Planning For Education

The executive director of the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) or Fulbright Commission, Rita Akhtar talked about the IEW activities are planned and organized by The USA advisers for all educational purposes like guiding students by their firsthand experiences in the application procedure and other educational activities. Pakistani students will be prepared for new cultures, ways of thinking and friendships with people from around the world through exposure to studying abroad and getting a glance at the increasingly globalized world.

International Education Week

During the International Education Week, the following events were held and the annual ceremony of High Achievers’ and Counselors’ Recognition in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Likewise, a networking event co-hosted by the US Consulate in Karachi named ‘Study Beyond Borders’ sessions in Islamabad and Karachi.

Increase in Pakistani Students

This year there was a 5% increase been recorded in Pakistani students’ enrollments compared to last year, Heller said that Pakistan is among the fastest emerging market places of origin for international students in America. According to an official statement, the US government is committed to supporting educational opportunities and academic exchanges for Pakistani students from all backgrounds.

Celebration Of International Education Week

The United States embassy and Education USA celebrated International Education Week (IEW) from 18th November 2019 to 22nd November 2019 by encouraging future Pakistani leaders to study in the US. On the benefits of studying in the United States, there were few sessions hosted on the radio by the title Teatime and Facebook live by the US embassy so that all students can get motivation towards studying around the globe in a new country.  

Facilities For Pakistani Students

USA offers free guidance and assistance to students interested in applying or learning about US colleges and universities. With offices in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, its advisers travel countrywide to provide advice to students who want to pursue their studies in the US. Moreover, for the students who want to study in America, there was an establishment named USEFP is a bi-national commission that started in 1950 by the governments of Pakistan.
