Islamabad: According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced four teachers’ training programmes in line along with the strategy of Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Syllabus and teaching pattern is being revised to enhance the quality of these programs, said Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui of Allama Iqbal Open University while reviewing the new programmes, being offered from the current semester (Spring 2017).

“We are trying to make sure that our qualified teachers should be the best ones in the market, “he said.

The admission in these programs will continue till March 6th, 2017. The programmes being offered are: M.Ed one year (Specialization secondary teacher Education and elementary teacher education).                                  

B.Ed (1 and half year): eligibility: MA/MSc/BS

BEd (two and half year): eligibility BA/BSc

BEd elementary/secondary (four years): eligibility: intermediate.

Higher education commission recently converted one-year B.Ed programme into four year on the basis of F.A. and FSc Education and the varsity has rescheduled it teaching program accordingly.
