When BS Botany admissions open

Universities announce admissions on their own schedules. In the notices listed on this page for the 2026 cycle, deadlines clustered in two periods:

  • December to February. Examples include AIOU (last date 16 February 2026), Government College University Faisalabad (12 January), University of Mianwali (21 January) and University of Haripur (26 January).

  • July to August. Examples include University of Layyah (15 July 2026) and Minhaj University Lahore (31 July).

Dates change every session, so treat these as a pattern, not a calendar. Subscribe to a university’s notices, or check this page regularly.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Find the official notice and note the last date.

  2. Check eligibility (see below) before paying any fee.

  3. Register on the university portal and complete the application form.

  4. Upload documents and pay the application fee. Many universities generate a bank challan from your portal account. For example, University of Layyah’s notice lists a challan fee of Rs 700.

  5. Appear for the entry test or interview if the university requires one.

  6. Check the merit list. Selected candidates are listed provisionally.

  7. Pay the admission fee by the deadline. Universities usually publish another merit list if seats remain.

  8. Complete document verification. Admission is typically conditional on it.

Use only the official university portal and the challan it generates.

Eligibility for BS Botany admission

Most universities require F.Sc (pre-medical) or an equivalent qualification. Minimum marks differ. University of Layyah lists F.Sc or equivalent with at least 50% marks, and its notice for the 2026 cycle lists a minimum of 50%. Other universities set different minimums, and some set none beyond a pass. Age limits and subject combinations also differ. Documents you need

  • Matric (or equivalent) certificate and result sheet

  • Intermediate result card

  • CNIC, or B-form if you don’t have a CNIC

  • Passport-size photographs

  • Attested copies of your academic record, if the university asks for them

Merit lists, tests and interviews

Universities select candidates by aggregate merit, an entry test, an interview, or a combination.

  • Merit: Layyah’s page lists a formula that combines F.Sc and Matric marks and adds 20 marks for Hafiz-e-Quran. Check the weights in the notice.

  • After selection: UVAS’s 2024 merit-list notice told candidates to generate a bank challan from the online portal, pay by a stated deadline, and watch for the next merit list.

  • Interviews and verification: University of Swabi’s Fall 2024 BS Botany merit list required selected candidates to attend an interview at the department and warned that absentees would lose their seat. It also made admission subject to document verification.
