APPSF’s President Kashif Mirza including other members Shahid Noor, Mian Shabbir Hashmi, Malik Khalid Mahmood, Hanif Anjum and Sadiq Siddique after a meeting have issued a statement in which they have demanded the reopening of school by 1st June. They said in their statement that the government should propose Standard Operating Procedures to start the schooling otherwise they private school management will start the school under their own SOPs.Under the slogans of “Education for all” the private school organizations and associations will hold a press conference and protest in their respective areas.  He said around 50 million students will face Loss of Education due to COVID-19 breakout and closure of schools till 15th  July will lead to permanent closure of half of the private schools leaving 1 million people unemployed.

On the call of protest of APPSF the Department Of School Education Punjab has responded with the following reason for not allowing the schools to open.

The Private School Association had called the protest for their personal interest and it is totally baseless. It is the duty of the people to obey the SOPs issued by the government. The private schools are getting the fees instead of the closure of the schools. It is the priority of the government and school education department to consider the lives of students and teachers precious. We cannot put their lives on risk at any cost.

He further said that the decision of keeping the schools closed is purely based on public interests. The private school association should show the responsibility and should take the public interests into consideration at this crucial time. The private schools earn millions of rupees every year. They are just looking after their income and business by which they earn. Their terms will not be accepted as we are more concerned about the protection of teachers and students.
