Inter Service Selection Board carried out a 5-day program for the Recruitment of Officers for the Pak Army, Pak Navy, and Pak Air Forces. The ISSB Selection System is based on the screening tests to evaluate the aptitude, personality, and ability of a candidate. The ISSB tests are held in the Four ISSB Test Centers in Kohat, Quetta, Malir, and Gujranwala. The candidates who pass all the ISSB selection process undergo the necessary training at the military academies. Categories of ISSB Tests

  1. Screening Test
  2. Psychological Test
  3. Group Testing Officers (GTO) Test

Screening Test (First Day)

 

After the completion of a personal information questionnaire, the individuals will undergo two types of tests. In the ISSB preliminary selection test 2020, the verbal and nonverbal tests are conducted. Once the test is over, the results will be declared within 15-30 minutes. The candidates who have met the ISSB test selection criteria are needed to stay back for the next tests. 

 

Psychological Test (Second day)

 

The psychological test consists of four parts such as

  1. Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)
  2. Word Association Test (WAT)
  3. Situation Reaction Test (SRT)
  4. Self-Description Test (SD)

 

Group Testing Officers (GTO) Test (Third and Fourth day)

 

The GTO tests include the following tests

  1. Group discussion
  2. Group Planning Exercise
  3. Progressive Group Tasks
  4. Half Group Tasks
  5. Individual Obstacles
  6. Command Task
  7. Final Group Task

 

Interviews

 

The interviews of the ISSB selection procedure held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day in the evening. ISSB preliminary interview is conducted to assess the abilities of the candidates. 

 

Board Meeting (Fifth day)

 

The candidates that have cleared all the previous tests of the Selection procedure of ISSB and ISSB initial interviews are required to appear before the Board of Examiners that consists of President, Psychologists, GTO’s and Technical Officer. The result will be declared within half an hour after the meeting. The selected candidates then stayed back for the medical examination in the nearby Military hospital and the rejected candidates have to go back.
