The Times Higher Education has released the most recent episode of its yearly college rankings, "The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017" for the present year. Just 7 Pakistani colleges made to the main 980 of the World's best colleges.
Just three of Pakistani colleges positioned in the main 800 of the World's best colleges, with four being positioned in the 800-978 section, by the Times Higher Education. The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology was positioned at the top, trailed by the National University of Sciences and Technology and the Quaid-e-Azam University, all of which were positioned in the main 800 of the world's best colleges. The University of Agriculture Faisalabad, trailed by the Bahauddin Zakariya University, University of Karachi, and the University of Lahore were positioned in the 801-978 section.
The National University of Sciences and Technology, positioned first by the QS, was positioned second by the Times Higher Education. The Times Higher Education positioned the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology on the main, a college which didn't made it to the rankings by QS.
This issue most likely could have happened because of positioning criteria, which is distinctive for each ranker.
