“How do I start my admission process?”
Admission processes of some universities can be difficult to follow through and without any clear guide, most students feel anxious even to start working on their application. However, the AIOU admission application is simple and requires minimal effort on part of the applicant. After a few easy steps, you will be done with your application in no time.
Once you have decided what degree you want to study, you have to first visit the official AIOU website. On the webpage, you will see several online admission form links and prospectus. If you want more information about the discipline you wish to study then you can download the relevant prospectus for the particular degree level.
Moving forward, there are 3 admission systems for fresh students, namely, merit – based, fresh Merit based, fresh open merit programs. Click the link of the admission form, which you prefer for example, “Fresh Open Merit Programs.” After you have clicked the link this will take you to another page that requires you to follow certain printing parameters like using only Google Chrome when printing the admission form, removing header and footer etc. After reading the instructions, click the “Apply for Admission” button.

When you click the “Apply for Admission” button, an online admission form will be opened. The admission form will consist of three pages that you have to fill. In the form, you will be asked for a registration number, add your registration number if you have registered before otherwise leave the area blank. Moreover, you will be asked to provide personal as well as academic information, so it is necessary that you enter accurate details because it will be verified by the university. After you are done with the form, press save and get a print out of the form.
The printed aiou admission form 2021 along with required documents – CNIC/B-form (students under 18 years of age), previous educational documents for example SSC and HSSC results; all of the required documents have to be verified. The university may demand other documents, check the prospectus for more information or call the helpline – and challan receipt (university copy) must be placed in an envelope and dispatched through Registered post/UMS from Pakistan Post office within 48 hours. Also, make sure to paste the detached/cut off address label from the Bank Challan/admission form on to the envelope. Moreover, no postal charges have to be paid by the applicants whatsoever, the AIOU has already paid the Pakistan Post.

How can I pay my Fee Challan/Admission fee?
The admission fee can be paid in any branch of National Bank of Pakistan, Allied Bank Limited, First Women Bank Limited, Bank Alfalah, and MCB. Moreover, students can also pay through Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, Upaisa etc. However, please read the prospectus before you pay through these methods.
When does AIOU offer its admission procedure?
Allama Iqbal Open University starts their student intake twice a year. The admissions are offered to students in Spring and Autumn semesters. In the spring semester, the admissions open from February to March, whereas, in autumn semester fresh student intake is opened between July to August.
How does AIOU confirm registration?
Students can confirm their admission and check the status of their admission two months after the submission of application form. To check status, students have to visit the official website of AIOU, click on “Admissions” tab, which will open a drop down menu, click on “Online services” then “Admission confirmation” add your roll number/challan number/registration number on the webpage.
My admission is not confirmed by AIOU, what should I do?
If your admission is not confirmed by AIOU then check the objectionable admission forms webpage. It might be that some information might be missing or inaccurate so you have to remove the objection as soon as possible. After you remove the objection, send a letter of objection by post to the Admission department.
