Postgraduate merit lists in Pakistan are released by each university or college on its own admission portal, usually after the entry test and before the fee deadline. For 2026, UAF checks go through postgraduate.uaf.edu.pk and BZU through apply.bzu.edu.pk. NUST publishes through its postgraduate admissions portal. Keep your application ID or roll number ready. If your name appears, pay the fee before the stated date, because a missed fee deadline cancels the seat. Last checked: 8 October 2026.
A postgraduate merit list is not issued from one central place. Each institution runs its own cycle, so the first job is knowing which door to knock on.
| Institution | Where the list appears | Programmes |
|---|---|---|
| University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) | postgraduate.uaf.edu.pk | MS, MPhil, MSc (Hons), MBA, PhD |
| Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan | apply.bzu.edu.pk | MS, MPhil, MSc (Hons), LL.M., MBA and more |
| NUST, Islamabad | NUST postgraduate admissions portal | MS, PhD |
| Govt Postgraduate Colleges (Gujranwala, Jhelum, Mansehra) | College notice board and website | BS, ADP, MA/MSc as offered |

UAF runs postgraduate admissions in more than one round, so a missed list rarely ends your chances.
UAF held its first postgraduate entrance test on 19 July with around 3,000 applicants, and registration for the second test ran from 21 July to 10 August 2026. The tests cover MS, MPhil, MSc (Hons), MBA and PhD programmes for 2026-27. Merit lists follow each test, and the university has published an undergraduate and postgraduate list pattern with a 1st list for top scorers, a 2nd for waiting candidates and a 3rd based on vacant seats. For the latest selection updates, see the UAF merit list 2026 news report.web.uaf.edu.pk
Open the UAF postgraduate portal, log in with the credentials you used to apply, and open the merit list section for your programme. Download the PDF and look for your application number, not just your name, since several applicants can share one. Questions go to the postgraduate admissions office at postgraduate@uaf.edu.pk or 041-9200189.
NUST ranks MS and PhD applicants by programme, so there is no single combined list. Candidates are ranked in descending order of merit score. The NUST postgraduate list ranks applicants for the university's postgraduate programmes, and a cutoff applies per programme. Check the postgraduate admissions portal where you applied, and compare your position against the programme you chose rather than against the whole university. The NUST merit lists page on ilmkidunya has context on how its lists have been presented in past cycles.
BZU's last date to apply online was 7 September 2026, and tests for programmes such as MS, MPhil and engineering were scheduled for 9 September 2026. Merit schedules, interview calls and fee deadlines are being uploaded progressively on the university website. That means a list may appear for one department before another. Check your department page rather than assuming nothing has been published.
BZU's Fall 2026 intake includes MPhil, MS, M.Sc. (Hons.), LL.M., M.Sc. Engineering, MBA and B.Ed. Lists are published department by department, so look for yours by subject.
Government postgraduate colleges, such as those in Satellite Town Gujranwala, Jhelum and Mansehra, usually announce merit lists on their own notice boards and websites, per programme and shift. They generally use previous academic marks as the basis and release lists in rounds as seats fill. Because these colleges post independently, always confirm a list against the college's own notice rather than a forwarded screenshot.
Pages and PDFs from 2019 for these colleges still circulate. They show past closing merit and are useful for judging how competitive a programme was, but they do not tell you your 2026 status. Treat them as an archive and use the college's current notice for selection.
Most Pakistani universities blend your previous academic result with your entry test score, and the exact weighting differs by programme and by year. The weighting is printed in each admission prospectus, so read it before comparing yourself with last year's cutoff. MS, MPhil and PhD candidates must hold the relevant HEC-recognised degree, and some universities require an additional test or interview before the final list.
For costs, the postgraduate fee structure page lists typical charges.
Not appearing on the first list is common. Seats open up when selected candidates don't pay, so a 2nd or 3rd list often follows. Check the next list as soon as it is posted, and compare your score with the previous cutoff to gauge your chances. If the gap is large, look at other postgraduate courses with later deadlines.
On the official admission portal of the university or college you applied to. UAF uses postgraduate.uaf.edu.pk, BZU uses apply.bzu.edu.pk, and NUST publishes through its postgraduate admissions portal.
UAF typically releases a 1st, 2nd and 3rd merit list, with later lists filling seats left vacant by candidates who did not pay fees.
BZU's Fall 2026 applications closed on 7 September and the entry test was set for 9 September 2026. Merit lists are uploaded progressively on the BZU website after evaluation.
No. They are archived records useful only for comparing past closing merit. Selection for 2026 is decided by each college's current notice.
The seat is cancelled and may be offered to a candidate on the next merit list.
Wait for the 2nd and 3rd lists, keep checking the portal, and consider applying to programmes with later deadlines.
