?? POSITION VACANT: VICE CHANCELLOR

National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad

?? About the Institution

National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad is the first public sector university in Pakistan established to address the challenges of rapid job transformation associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0). Unlike traditional universities, NSU emphasizes job-ready skills development alongside cognitive learning to ensure students are well-prepared for local and global workforce demands.

?? Position Overview

Applications are invited from accomplished, visionary, and motivated academic leaders for the position of Vice Chancellor of NSU, Islamabad. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading and enhancing the university's academic, research, and administrative capacities in line with the institution’s mission and the national vision for skills-based education.

? Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

?? Age Limit: Not more than 65 years on the closing date of application (30-09-2025).

?? Academic Qualification: Hold a PhD degree from an HEC-recognized or UNESCO-listed institution.

?? Experience:

Minimum 10 years post-PhD professional experience.

Demonstrated leadership in academia, research, and management, preferably in skills-related disciplines.

?? Research Credentials:

Strong record of distinguished research and publications.

?? Required Competencies & Qualities

Applicants will be assessed based on:

Proven academic and research excellence.

Strong administrative and strategic leadership abilities.

Expertise in:

Curriculum planning for skill development.

Strategic planning and resource mobilization.

Financial management and university governance.

Deep understanding of:

National and international job market trends.

Skills development in the context of IR 4.0.

Building public-private-development sector partnerships to enhance institutional growth.

?? Terms of Appointment

The Vice Chancellor will be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of four (04) years, as per applicable laws.

The appointee will receive the Vice Chancellor Salary Package, approved by the Chancellor.
