Undergraduate Scholarships for Students of Coastal Region of Balochistan

Issuing Authority: Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) invites applications from outstanding students of Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech (Turbat), and Awaran districts of Balochistan for undergraduate scholarships.

These scholarships are offered for studies in HEC-recognized Public and Private Sector Universities / Degree Awarding Institutions (DAIs) across all disciplines under the project:

“Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship Programme for Balochistan”

Eligibility Criteria

1. Domicile Requirement:

   • Applicants must hold a domicile or local certificate of Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech (Turbat), or Awaran districts.

2. Educational Requirement:

   • Must have completed 12 years of education with at least 50% marks in SSC and HSSC or equivalent.

   • Admission to professional programs is subject to meeting requirements of the respective professional councils.

3. Institutional Requirement:

   • Both SSC and HSSC (or equivalent) must be completed from colleges/institutes located in the defined districts (Gwadar, Lasbela/Hub, Kech, Awaran).

4. Current Students:

   • Students already enrolled in a BS program (maximum one academic year/session prior to the advertisement) are eligible.

5. Age Limit:

   • Maximum 22 years as of the closing date.

6. Admission Requirement:

   • Applicants must meet HEC and university criteria for admission to 4–5 year undergraduate programs.

7. Other Scholarships:

   • Students already availing any other HEC or government scholarship are not eligible.

8. Result Awaiting Students:

   • Students whose results are still pending are not eligible.

Selection Process

1. Merit & District Quota:

   • Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and district quota according to HEC policy.

2. Aptitude Test:

   • Applicants will be shortlisted based on Aptitude Test scores conducted by HEC (ETC) and academic credentials.

   • Minimum 50% marks in the Aptitude Test are required.

3. Merit List:

   • Scholarship merit will be determined from the online data submitted by applicants.

   • Misrepresentation, errors, or omissions will lead to cancellation of scholarship at any stage.

How to Apply

1. Application Submission:

   • Submit applications online only via HEC website: https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk

   • Hard copies are not required at this stage.

2. Test Fee:

   • Fee of PKR 500/- must be deposited through 1Link 1Bill invoice via participating banks, ATMs, Internet Banking, or Mobile Banking.

   • Steps to pay:

     1. Select 1Link 1Bill invoice payment service.

     2. Sign in to your mobile banking app and click on Bill Payment / Payment Service.

     3. Enter the consumer number generated by HEC portal and pay.

   • Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. Online Verification:

   • After fee payment, click “Verify Online Payment” on the HEC scholarship dashboard.

   • Complete and submit the online application.

   • Incomplete or unsaved applications will not be considered.

4. HEC Rights:

   • HEC reserves the right to postpone or cancel the scholarship process at any stage without assigning reason.
