VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Ministry of Commerce is offering exciting opportunities for dedicated professionals to contribute to evidence-based policies and strategies. We are inviting applications for the following positions:

1. Trade Expert (Category-II)

• No. of Posts: 1

• Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (on the date of advertisement)

• Qualifications: Master's or equivalent (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development, or any relevant Social Sciences discipline.

• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Required Skills:

  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in handling data using Advanced Excel, Stata, Python, or R.

  • Experience in managing international trade-related data, including firm/product-level statistics.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in econometric modeling, impact evaluation methods, and predictive analytics.

  • Experience in writing reports and presenting data and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

2. Research Associate (Category-III)

• No. of Posts: 4

• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (on the date of advertisement)

• Qualifications: Master's or equivalent (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development, or any relevant Social Sciences discipline.

• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience.

• Required Skills:

  • Expertise in handling data using Advanced Excel techniques.

  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

  • Experience in data cleaning and handling micro datasets.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Power BI, Stata, or Python/R.

  • At least one (1) publication in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals, books, or conference proceedings.

3. IT Expert (Category-II)

• No. of Posts: 1

• Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (on the date of advertisement)

• Qualifications: Master's or equivalent (16 years of education) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.

• Experience: Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Windows Server, networking, and SharePoint.

  • Advanced experience in website, portal, and database management with a focus on security and performance.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Expertise in web development with database security best practices.

  • Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance.

  • Relevant certifications demonstrating expertise in required skills.

4. IT Support Assistant (Category-III)

• No. of Posts: 1

• Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (on the date of advertisement)

• Qualifications: Master's or equivalent (16 years of education) in Computer Science or IT-related fields.

• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience.

• Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Windows/macOS and networking concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in managing websites, portals, and databases, including security and performance optimization.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Awareness of data management practices and basic regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Relevant certifications or coursework demonstrating knowledge of required skills.

5. Legal Expert (Category-II)

• No. of Posts: 1

• Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (on the date of advertisement)

• Qualifications: LLB or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or international institution/university. LL.M. degree will be considered an additional advantage.

• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of professional experience as a legal advisor.

• Required Skills:

  • Handling HR and service-related legal issues, including employment law, labor relations, employee benefits, and workplace policies.

• Desirable Skills:

  • Expertise in the Civil Servants Act-1973 and other Government Service Rules & Policies.

  • Knowledge of international labor law and cross-border HR regulations, including compliance with global employment standards, human rights frameworks, and multinational workplace policies.

• Successful candidates will be offered market-competitive salaries.

• The appointment will be made on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (1) year, further extendable based on performance.
