MINISTRY OF ENERGY (PETROLEUM DIVISION) IS MANDATED TO ENSURE AVAILABILITY AND SECURITY OF SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY OF OIL AND GAS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND STRATEGIC REQUIREMENTS OF PAKISTAN AND TO COORDINATE DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF ENERGY AND MINERALS.

APPOINTMENT OF TECHNICAL ADVISOR

The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) is looking for an outstanding, dynamic and seasoned professional, having sound grasp of technical and commercial issues of upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the Petroleum Sector.

  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the overall supervision of the Minister (Incharge) and the concerned Secretary, the Technical Advisor will be responsible to carry out, but will not be limited to the following tasks for the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division).

  • Review the existing petroleum / gas / mineral related policies, frameworks. constitutional
    provisions and Rules of Business.
  • Study the latest global and regional best practices in the field of Petroleum for augmenting
    the capacity of the said sector.
  • To oversee the development programs of sector in respect of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum
    Division) and Companies i Organizations / Departments under its administrative control
  • Review the existing framework for promotion of research and innovation in the field of
    Petroleum and suggest measures for upgrading the same.
  • Undertake the review of existing HR polices / programs to assess their maturity,
    effectiveness and suitability and to suggest measures for capacity building of the human resource in the sector.

  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

    The candidate shall have Ph.D Degree in Energy Management / Policy, Earth Sciences. Petroleum / Chemical / Mining / Mineral or Allied Engineering Disciplines from a globally recognized university / HEC with at least fourteen (14) years professional experience or Master's Degree in relevant subject(s) with 18 years' experience in the relevant field.

  • MAXIMUM AGE LIMIT:

    Maximum age limit is sixty-two (62) years (to be calculate as on the closing date of submission of application).

  • SALARY PACKAGE:

    The selected candidate will be offered MP-1 scale and other perks and privileges as per the Government of Pakistan's rules and regulations.

  • TENURE:

    The selected candidate will be initially appointed for a period of three (03) years, further extendable for a maximum period of two (02) years (on yearly basis), subject to satisfactory performance.
