Punjab Workers Welfare Board is a organization which was setup for the welfare of government and welfare. Government of Punjab passed special law in the year of 1971 which is called Workers Welfare Ordinance. It is usually headed by many directors of the respective departments. There are many functions of this governmental agency. It has also many subdivisions like of Mission of Housing and Management Section. There are four kinds benefits provided for the workers. Residence is provided to the government workers. They can live in the labour colonies. Education to the children of the workers is also provided free of cost. There are further grants given like merit based scholarships, allowanes for their marriages. Funds are also provided to the family of workers after death.
Employees are recruited according to the rules as set by the Government of Pakistan. Human Resource Department does the hiring. Newly appointed employees are given contract for a period of 1 year. Duration of it rises on the performance of the employees. 5 years relaxation in the age limit is provided to most of the candidates.
