Challenging Career Opportunity

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is the prime official agency responsible for the collection, compilation, and dissemination of reliable statistical information. These statistics are essential for policymakers, planners, and researchers. PBS conducts various censuses, surveys, national accounts, and economic and social reports based on primary and secondary data.

PBS invites applications from qualified, energetic, and experienced individuals for the following position:

Position Available

Position Salary Scale Age Limit Term of Appointment
Member (Support Services) Management Position-II (MP-II) Maximum 62 years 4 years (eligible for reappointment subject to performance; tenure ends at age 65, whichever is earlier)

Qualification and Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Advanced university degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Sciences from an HEC-recognized university, preferably a leading international institution.

  2. Skills and Experience:

    • Professional experience in design, development, and maintenance of IT operations and infrastructure of a large organization.

    • Experience should cover hardware, operating systems, online databases, statistical applications, and communication systems.

    • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position in a significant organization.

    • Understanding of Government Management Systems is advantageous.

  3. Other Requirements:

    • Government employees must apply through proper channels.

    • Applicants must be capable of supervising multiple sections and assisting the Chief Statistician in assignments.
