Our client, a reputable financial institution and an equal opportunity employer, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated, and highly accomplished professional for the following senior leadership position to be based at their Karachi Office.

Position: Managing Director (MD)

Location: Karachi

Position Objective

The Managing Director (MD) will be responsible for the executive management of the Company’s domestic and international investment portfolio. The role requires visionary leadership, strategic oversight, and operational excellence to safeguard and enhance the value of state-owned assets, particularly international hospitality and commercial investments.

The MD will ensure strict compliance with Government of Pakistan policies, public sector governance standards, and international regulatory requirements. The position demands a public-sector-oriented corporate leader capable of effectively managing government stakeholders and operating across multiple jurisdictions through regular domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and executive leadership for domestic and international investments.

  • Oversee asset optimization, restructuring initiatives, and financial turnaround strategies.

  • Safeguard and enhance the value of state-owned assets.

  • Ensure compliance with public sector governance frameworks and international regulatory standards.

  • Maintain alignment with Government of Pakistan policies.

  • Engage and manage relationships with key government and international stakeholders.

  • Supervise overseas operations and international assets (preferably in North America and/or Europe).

Qualification Requirements

  • Master’s degree in:

    • Business Administration

    • Finance

    • Public Administration

    • Or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized reputable institution

  • Additional certifications in corporate governance, public policy, international taxation, or executive leadership will be considered an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive professional experience.

  • At least 3–5 years in a C-level or equivalent senior executive leadership role.

  • Prior experience in:

    • Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs)

    • Statutory bodies

    • Government-owned entities

    • Large organizations with significant government interface

  • Demonstrated experience managing overseas operations or international assets (preferably in North America and/or Europe).

  • Proven track record in strategic restructuring, asset optimization, financial turnaround, and stakeholder alignment.
