Positions Vacant: Heads of Seerat Chairs

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has established 09 Seerat Chairs to promote scholarly research on contemporary and relevant themes derived from the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). These Chairs aim to address modern challenges faced by Pakistani society and propose actionable guidance through rigorous academic exploration.

Seerat Chair Themes and Required Qualifications

Each Chair is dedicated to a specific research theme, with the following academic qualifications and specializations required:

1. Leadership and Governance

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Governance, Leadership, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management.

2. Human Rights and Social Justice

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Human Rights, Law, International Humanitarian Law, Social Welfare, Social Work, Social Justice.

3. Business, Commerce, and Property Rights

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Commerce, Management Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Intellectual Property Rights.

4. Education and Knowledge

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Education, Educational Leadership & Administration, Knowledge Management.

5. Social Justice and Welfare

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Sociology, Social Work, Human Rights, Social Welfare, Community Welfare, Development Studies.

6. Gender Studies & Women Rights

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Gender Studies, Women Rights, Women Empowerment / Development, Gender Studies & Law.

7. Global Peace

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Peace & Conflict Studies, International Relations, Conflict Resolution, Political Science, Counter Terrorism & Deradicalization, Strategic Studies, Global Studies.

8. Interfaith and Communal Harmony

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Social Work, Religious Studies, Conflict Resolution, Public Advocacy, Public Administration, Community Development.

9. Sustainable Development

  • Qualification: PhD from an HEC-recognized university/institution.

  • Fields: Environmental Sciences, Sustainability Management, Strategic Planning & Policy, Economic Development.

Eligibility

  • Applications are invited from both Pakistani and foreign Islamic scholars of international repute and recognized scholarly eminence.

Terms of Appointment

  • Duration: Initial appointment of two years, renewable based on performance.

  • Salary: Attractive and negotiable, based on experience and academic credentials.
