CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) invites applications from highly qualified and dynamic professionals for the position of Head of Internal Audit. This position is critical for ensuring strong governance, risk management, and financial compliance within the organization.

Position:

Head of Internal Audit

Qualification & Experience:

  • Fellow membership of one of the following professional bodies is required:

    • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)

    • Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP)

    • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

    • Certified Professional Internal Auditor (CPIA)

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the areas of:

    • Audit

    • Finance or Compliance functions

    • Risk management

    • Designing internal control procedures

    • Ensuring effective compliance and financial reliability in public or private sector organizations

  • The candidate must fulfill the “Fit and Proper Criteria” under Schedule IV of the SOEs Act.

  • Maximum age limit: 50 years on the date of advertisement.

Preference:

  • Candidates with experience in shipping industry, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), or a listed company as Chief Internal Auditor will be preferred.

Other Requirements:

  1. Strong understanding of governance, risk, and risk control, particularly in SOEs or public sector projects.

  2. Appointment will follow all relevant regulations including:

    • State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023

    • State-Owned Enterprises (Ownership and Management) Policy 2023

    • Pakistan National Shipping Corporation Ordinance, 1979 (as amended)

    • PNSC Service Regulations 2025

    • CMU Guidelines for C-Level appointments

  3. Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and people management skills.

  4. High level of empathy, integrity, and decision-making capability.

  5. Comprehensive understanding of financial systems, audits, compliance, ERP environments, and data analytics tools to ensure effective internal controls and risk management.

Terms of Appointment:

  • Appointment will be on contract basis, initially for two years, extendable by mutual consent.

  • Remuneration: Market-based package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
