The University of Karachi is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader committed to achieving excellence in research, fostering innovation, and driving commercialization initiatives, including patenting and intellectual property development.

The ideal candidate must be a Programme/Operation Management Expert with a strong background in national, provincial (SHEC), or regulatory think tanks. The role requires an individual capable of developing strong ties among the Local Government, Business, Industry, and Academia to enhance research activities, establish standard policies, and draft business development profiles/plans to present University research projects to the private sector and relevant industries.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Basic Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Management Sciences from an HEC-recognized University/Institution.

• Required Publication Record: The candidate must have a solid track record of HEC-recognized research publications indexed in Web of Science (WoS) / Scopus journals.

• Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing research projects, commercialization, project management, entrepreneurship, or related leadership roles in a public or private University/Institution.

  • Prior experience coordinating closely with senior leadership/officials at the HEC is required.

  • A minimum of two (02) years of experience specifically serving as Director ORIC is highly preferred.

• Domain Knowledge: Must possess a clear strategic vision, strong leadership capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of research innovation, commercialization frameworks, and industry-academia linkages matching the official HEC guidelines.

• Maximum Age Limit: Maximum 55 years on the closing date of application submissions.

1. Application Forms: Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form, which can be obtained from the HRM Office, Ground Floor, New Administration Building, University of Karachi, upon payment of Rs. 3,600/- via a Pay Order drawn in favor of the "University of Karachi".

2. Degree Verification: All degrees, certificates, and courses must be from universities or institutions duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

3. Incomplete Submissions: Incomplete application packages or sheets will not be accepted.

4. Government Servants: Candidates already working in Government, Semi-Government, or Autonomous organizations in Pakistan must apply through the proper channel.

5. Selection Procedure: Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the official Selection Board of the University of Karachi.

6. Travel Allowances: No TA/DA will be provided to candidates called for the test or interview.
