Position: Director General (Legal)

CCP Grade-9 | Number of Positions: 01

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) invites applications from highly experienced and dynamic legal professionals for the post of Director General (Legal). The ideal candidate must demonstrate leadership, legal expertise, and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks.

?? Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: LLM from an HEC-recognized local or reputable foreign university.

  • Preferred: PhD in Law and/or Barrister-at-Law.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 15 years of professional experience with LLM; OR

    • 10 years of experience with a PhD.

    • Extensive work in litigation, adjudication, and legal drafting within public or private sector.

    • At least 10 years of High Court standing.

? Additional Professional Credentials:

  • Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks in Pakistan.

  • Proven experience in legislative drafting, including formulation of rules and regulations.

  • In-depth knowledge of Competition Law, including:

    • Competition Act, 2010

    • Related regulations and jurisprudence

  • High standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity.

  • Strong:

    • Written and verbal communication skills

    • Research and interpretation abilities

    • Representation and argumentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration capabilities.

?? Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal and regulatory advice to the Commission.

  • Draft and review legal instruments such as rules and regulations.

  • Support adjudication processes.

  • Represent CCP in judicial forums:

    • High Courts

    • Competition Appellate Tribunal

  • Offer legal opinions on complex corporate and competition matters.

?? Maximum Age Limit:

55 years

?? Salary & Benefits:

  • A competitive salary package will be offered based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise.

?? General Terms & Conditions:

  1. Appointment will be on a contract basis for 2 years, extendable based on performance. May be considered for regularization.

  2. Only eligible candidates (meeting qualification, experience, and age criteria) will be shortlisted.

  3. Government employees must apply through proper channel with NOC from their department.
