We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified professional with relevant experience and a proactive management style for the position in the Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD).

Position: Director General (MIRAD)

Reporting To: CEO / Board of Directors, IESCO
Location: Islamabad

Job Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and strategic direction for the development and operationalization of the Competitive Electricity Market in Pakistan.
Manage bilateral power purchase agreements, legal and regulatory affairs, market billing and settlement, demand forecasting, and transmission planning.
Act as IESCO’s primary interface with the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

In-depth knowledge of competitive electricity markets, compliance requirements, and hands-on experience at senior management level.
Proven ability to interact with CEO and Board levels.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Capability to develop and lead a high-performing and competent team.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education & Experience (Option 1):

Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Management Sciences from a HEC-recognized university.
Master’s degree is preferred.
Relevant experience in a reputable company.

Education & Experience (Option 2):

Minimum 15 years of total experience, including 10 years in the Power Sector.
Strong understanding of technical, commercial, financial, regulatory, and legal aspects of the power utility business.
Familiarity with the competitive electricity market is a plus.

Salary Package, Tenure & Age Limit:

Salary: Market-based competitive package.
Tenure: Initial contract of 3 years, extendable based on satisfactory performance.
Performance Review: First review after 6 months for contract confirmation.
Age Limit: Maximum 60 years as of the last date of application.
