CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) is a leading power distribution company of Pakistan, serving more than 40 million customers with an annual revenue base exceeding PKR 522 billion. IESCO’s operational jurisdiction covers Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal.

IESCO invites applications from highly qualified, proactive, and result-oriented professionals for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on a contract basis. This is a senior-level, career-based position offering a unique opportunity to become part of the management team of a major power utility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, team-building, change management, and communication skills with a high drive to achieve performance targets.


Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Board of Directors. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Finance, Treasury, and Accounts Departments, ensuring sound financial governance, compliance, and sustainability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage finance, treasury, and accounts functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and record-keeping

  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Board of Directors on all financial matters

  • Maintain an effective system of internal financial controls in line with best practices

  • Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure financial integrity and implement audit recommendations

  • Operate effectively in an ERP-based environment

  • Ensure compliance with internal audit standards, risk mitigation systems, and internal controls aligned with IIA Standards


Preferred Experience & Expertise

Candidates will be given preference if they have experience in:

  • Compliance with Companies Act, 2017SOE Act, 2023, and applicable laws, rules, SOPs, and guidelines

  • Implementation of depreciation and inventory management through robust internal control systems

  • Development and execution of procurement control functions, including independent procurement oversight and associated financial control systems

  • Understanding of the Pakistan electricity market, corporate and regulatory frameworks, and tariff structures


Qualification & Experience

  • Member of a recognized professional accounting body

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, of which at least 03 years must be in a senior management position of equivalent status

  • Experience must be in an organization with minimum total assets of PKR 5 billion


Salary, Tenure & Age Limit

  • Salary Package: Market-based and competitive

  • Contract Duration: Three (03) years, extendable based on satisfactory performance and organizational needs

  • Probation Period: Six (06) months, with confirmation after first performance review

  • Age Limit: Up to 60 years


Other Conditions

  1. The candidate must meet the Fit and Proper Criteria under the Companies Act, 2017 and SOE Act, 2023, and submit an undertaking on non-judicial stamp paper (Rs. 100 or above) as per the specimen available on the IESCO website.

  2. The candidate must be a Pakistani national.

  3. Any false or forged information may result in disqualification at any stage, with recovery of costs incurred.

  4. Candidates with foreign academic qualifications must provide an HEC Equivalence Certificate.
