The Director – Safety & Security will lead and coordinate all safety and security operations across AKU Pakistan. The role aims to foster a resilient, secure, and compliant institutional environment through proactive risk management and strategic leadership.
The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership to identify emerging risks, provide timely strategic guidance, and implement effective mitigation strategies. The position also requires building and maintaining trusted relationships with key government stakeholders and supporting regional safety and security teams with risk-based technical expertise.
Provide strategic direction for AKU Pakistan’s safety and security framework.
Oversee operational performance and strengthen institutional preparedness.
Lead crisis response, emergency readiness, and business continuity planning.
Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards and regulatory requirements across all sites.
Guide investigations and security operations with professional oversight.
Support major institutional initiatives that enhance long-term resilience.
Build and mentor capable safety and security teams.
Promote strong partnerships with government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
Oversee departmental budgeting and resource management.
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Minimum rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Colonel) or equivalent.
Preferably hold a Master’s degree.
Minimum 25 years of service as a senior commissioned officer.
Demonstrated expertise in:
Security operations
Investigations
Crisis and continuity management
Emergency preparedness
Team leadership and budget oversight
EHS and regulatory compliance
