Career Opportunities in Police Department

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) invites online applications from eligible candidates having domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for various positions in the Police Department.

1. Important Dates & Application Process

  • Last Date to Apply: 30 April 2026 (till 5:00 PM)
  • Applications must be submitted online only through the KPPSC website.
  • Application Fee: Rs. 500/- (excluding service charges)
    • Payable via:
      • Banking Apps (NBP, HBL, ABL, BOK, BoP, etc.)
      • Microfinance Apps (JazzCash, EasyPaisa, Daraz Wallet, etc.)
  • Applications submitted by any method other than online will not be accepted.
  • Candidates must retain proof of fee submission.

2. Available Positions

A. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) – BPS-17

  • Total Posts: 27 (Leftover Fast Track Promotion Posts)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be serving as Inspector of Police
  • Must have:
    • Successfully completed probation period
    • No major penalties in the last 3 years
  • Minimum Second Class Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Must have completed Basic Police Training Course
  • Gender: Male & Female

B. Inspector of Police – BPS-14

  • Total Posts: 667
    • 223 Fresh
    • 444 Fast Track Promotion

Eligibility Criteria

  • Relevant service experience in Police Department
  • Completion of probation period
  • No major penalty in the last 3 years

District-wise Distribution

Posts are allocated across various districts including:

  • Peshawar
  • Mardan
  • Malakand
  • Charsadda
  • Swat
  • D.I. Khan
  • And other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

C. Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) – BPS-11 (Traffic System)

  • Total Posts: 4

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be in-service Constables/Head Constables
  • Minimum Second Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
  • Relevant service in Police Department

3. General Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidates must be:
    • Citizens of Pakistan
    • Hold domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • Qualifications must be obtained before the closing date.
  • No changes in application details (especially domicile) will be allowed after submission.

4. Instructions for Government Employees

  • Must provide Departmental Permission Certificate within the prescribed time.

5. Selection Process

  • Selection will be made through:
    • Written examination conducted by KPPSC
    • Evaluation of service record and eligibility

6. Additional Marks / Preferences

  • 10 Marks for:
    • Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM)
    • Pakistan Police Medal (PPM)
  • 5 Additional Marks for:
    • Completion of Basic Training Courses

7. Examination Instructions

  • Papers may be attempted in English or Urdu (except language papers).
  • Absence in the examination:
    • Will not count as an attempt
  • Appearing in even one paper will be considered a full attempt

8. Important Notes

  • Only eligible candidates will be considered.
  • Incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will be rejected.
  • KPPSC reserves the right to:
    • Increase or decrease the number of posts
    • Cancel or modify the recruitment process
