Hiring of Senior Music Trainers/Consultants
BACKGROUND
The project aims to strengthen the technical and professional capacities of young musicians enrolled at LLMC through advanced master classes, mentorship, and exposure to Pakistan's contemporary music industry. The initiative also seeks to promote and preserve the musical heritage of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral by supporting the documentation of local musical traditions and fostering innovation through engagement with diverse musical practices.
SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENT
The selected consultant(s) will be expected to:
- Design and deliver advanced music training workshops for LLMC students in Hunza;
- Conduct practical master classes combining the indigenous musical traditions of Hunza with South Asian classical music and contemporary musical forms;
- Mentor emerging musicians and support their artistic and professional development;
- Lead an advanced music residency/workshop in Karachi for selected participants;
- Provide technical guidance on performance, composition, musical interpretation, and professional practice;
- Contribute to project documentation and reporting, where required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should possess:
- A nationally recognized reputation as a professional musician, composer, music educator, or music producer;
- At least 20 years of demonstrated professional experience in music performance, composition, production, or music education;
- Extensive and well-rounded experience in designing and delivering professional music training and mentoring programs related to the local music of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, as well as South Asian classical music and contemporary music forms such as pop music;
- Demonstrated experience of working with young and emerging musicians as well as nationally and internationally recognized musicians and musical ensembles;
- Strong knowledge of Pakistani musical traditions alongside contemporary musical practices;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Experience working with cultural, educational, or development organizations will be considered an advantage.
- National or international recognition, awards, honours, or formal acknowledgements from government bodies, cultural institutions, music organizations, or other reputable arts and cultural organizations will be considered an advantage.
